Paul and I left Redlands at 4pm sharp. We planned a stop for dinner and an arrival in St. George UT for 11pm. It didn't quite work out that way. We got to St. George; but, there happened to be a Jahova's Witness convention in town, and everything was sold out. We ended up going to Cedar City, 20 some miles up the road. That was interesting also because the GPS took us off on to some frontage road and into some dinky town that shares the same zip code. Fortunately, the GPS nearest lodging function got us on the right path; but, it also happens that there are 2 Best Westerns within 1/2 a mile of each other. We ended up at the wrong one. By the time we got to the room, it was 12:15 am Saturday morning (PDT). We crossed time zones when we got to Utah. The nice thing about this ride was that we were both on Sena intercoms. We were both linked to our phones; but, we were also chatting the entire way. The Sena lasted the full 8 hours without a hiccup. Communications are just as clear as if we were sitting next to each other in a quiet room. I've never done that before and it made the trip go very quickly. Here's the last several plots in our route...
When we arrived, the temperature was 45 degrees. It was nice and cool. Tonight, it will hit the low 30's; but, we won't be in it. Highs tomorrow with no chance of rain. We'll have to backtrack a little bit to start going through the parks. All riding today, no pics right now; but, I did shoot some video of going through Las Vegas. Hopefully that came out and I can upload it in the morning.
This officially adds Utah to the list of states I've ridden in. Blue represents states I've been to, Red, the ones I've ridden a motorcycle in.
